Greenville & Anderson counties, SC

Every absence
has a story.

Getting a child to school can involve more than getting out the door. We're exploring the barriers families face—and what it takes for support to actually reach them.

Research & planning

Before we build, we listen

Good intentions
need good questions.

We're researching school attendance support in Greenville County and Anderson School Districts 1–5. No pilot location or program has been selected.

What is already working?

We want to learn from schools, community organizations, and families about the support that makes a difference.

Where does help fall short?

We're asking about access, capacity, and follow-up—including barriers that remain even when everyone follows through.

What would actually help?

It might be a new service. It might be more support for an existing organization. The conversations should guide that decision.

The person behind Say Here

Hi, I'm Travis.

Travis Shaw Founder

My background spans community advocacy, outreach, nonprofit operations, and behavioral health administration. Across those roles, I kept coming back to the same question: what happens between identifying a need and a family actually receiving meaningful support?

Say Here grew from that question. I'm developing it as an independent nonprofit initiative focused first on listening—to educators, community organizations, professionals, and families—before deciding what should be built.

Say Here is independently developed and is not operated by, sponsored by, or affiliated with a current or former employer.
